How to Play TriPeaks Solitaire

TriPeaks lays out three overlapping peaks of cards — 28 in all — above a face-up waste pile and a stock of the remaining 23. The bottom row of each peak starts face up; the cards stacked above are unlocked as you clear the ones covering them.

The rule is simple and fast: tap any exposed peak card whose rank is exactly one higher or one lower than the card currently on top of the waste. Suit is irrelevant — only the rank matters. So on a 7 you can play a 6 or an 8; on that new card you keep going. The sequence wraps around, meaning an Ace plays on a King and a King plays on an Ace, which lets runs snake up and down without limit.

Removing a peak card exposes whatever it was covering, gradually dismantling the peaks. When nothing on the board can be played, tap the stock to turn a fresh card onto the waste and start a new chain. Clear all three peaks before the stock runs out and you win.

The browser deal follows the standard layout: 28 cards in the peaks, one card face up on the waste to start, and 23 in the stock. Covered cards stay face down until both cards overlapping them are gone, so you only learn what is under a peak by digging. There are no redeals. Once the 23 stock cards have been turned, the hand is over if nothing on the board connects to the waste. Because ranks wrap, a King on the waste accepts either a Queen or an Ace.

Tap a playable peak card to move it onto the waste, and tap the stock when you need a new card. This version keeps no points score; the toolbar tracks time and moves, and the win screen shows both. Undo takes back a play or a draw, and Hint points at a playable card or tells you to draw. If it finds nothing, you can start a new deal, restart the same one, or keep playing. Strategy Tips for TriPeaks

• Hoard your stock. Every deal is a card you'll never get back. Play every possible peak move before you touch the stock.
• Build the longest run you can. Look several cards ahead and choose the path that keeps the chain alive rather than the first legal tap.
• Target the tallest peaks. Cards buried under a full peak block the most, so prioritize clearing toward the covered cards.
• Use the wrap-around. Remember Ace–King loops both ways; it often bridges a run you thought had dead-ended.
• Open all three peaks evenly. Keep options across the board so you always have a legal move waiting after each deal.
• Plan the finish. Late in a hand, look two cards ahead before each tap. When two plays are open, take the one that leaves more of the layout reachable from the next stock card.

The mistake that ends most TriPeaks hands is taking the first playable card without checking what it uncovers. When a 9 on the waste lets you play either an 8 or a 10, pick the one that flips a face-down card or keeps the run going, not the one that happens to be nearest. The second is drawing too early: every stock card you turn while a peak move is still available is one fewer card for the end of the hand. Late on, count the stock against the cards left on the board. If ten cards remain and the stock holds three, you need long runs, so take the line with the most connections.

Not every TriPeaks deal can be cleared. With a single pass through the stock and face-down cards you cannot see, some hands run out of connections whatever you do, which is part of why a hand only takes a few minutes.
