Games Like Solitaire Stories: 6 Story Solitaire Picks, Including Android
Six picks for players who like Solitaire Stories from Apple Arcade, compared on story, solitaire modes, platforms, ads and offline play, with four that run on Android.
If you want a game like Solitaire Stories, the closest story-first pick that also runs on Android is Ava’s Manor from Uken, a TriPeaks mystery that moves forward with every level. Solitaire Crime Stories swaps the manor for a detective serial, and the LinkDesks Solitaire Story is the one to try if you want Klondike with short story episodes. For the mode mix of Klondike, Spider and TriPeaks without the stories, Microsoft Solitaire Collection covers it on every platform. If you are staying on Apple Arcade, Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On! is the solitaire game there with the most personality. Solitaire Castle Royal, which is ours, is the pick for a free TriPeaks level map with a castle to restore and no coin cost to start a level. None of them does everything Solitaire Stories does in one app.
What Solitaire Stories is, and why people look elsewhere
Solitaire Stories is made by Red Games Co. and is part of Apple Arcade, so it has no ads and no in-app purchases, but it needs an Arcade subscription to play. It bundles Klondike (Draw 1 and Draw 3), Spider in one, two and four suits, TriPeaks and online multiplayer. Its signature is the story mode: each story is a run of levels that get harder as you go, with its own narrative, deck designs, backgrounds and soundtrack. Coins earned along the way go into the Prize Pod and a "Your Deck" screen where you set up the table the way you like it. The version history shows a new update every month, most recently in early September 2026.
The reasons people search for alternatives are usually practical. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision, and there is no Google Play version, so Android and Chromebook players cannot get it. Some players also leave Apple Arcade and want something free to install instead of another subscription. Others have finished the current stories and want a longer run of levels between updates. Each pick below is sorted by which of those you are solving.
How we chose these games
We make one of the games below, so here is the bar every pick had to clear.
- It covers something Solitaire Stories does. Either a story that advances with your wins, or the same spread of classic modes. We say in each section which half a pick covers, because no single game covers both.
- Platforms stated up front. Since the most common reason to leave Solitaire Stories is that it is Apple-only, the table lists where each game runs.
- Costs named plainly. Solitaire Stories has no ads and no purchases inside the game. Every alternative is compared against that: ads, in-app purchases, boosters or a subscription.
- Still maintained, or finished on purpose. Every free pick had a Google Play update in 2026. Solitaire Home Story from SOFTGAMES, a story-and-renovation game that fits the brief, was dropped because its Play listing has not changed since January 2025. Pocket Card Jockey is the one exception, a complete game rather than a live service, and we flag its last update date.
- Verified from the developer’s own listing. Facts come from the App Store and Google Play pages, checked October 2026. Where a listing does not commit to something, such as offline play, we say "not stated". No ratings or download figures are quoted here.

If the story is what you would miss
Ava’s Manor, the most developed story outside Apple Arcade
Uken’s game is the one we would send a Solitaire Stories player to first if they are moving to Android. Ava, an author stuck for ideas, inherits her great uncle’s Blackwood Manor, and every level you clear moves her closer to the family secret the house is hiding while you restore it room by room. The listing promises mystery, romance and "thousands of levels", with boosters and regular events. Where Solitaire Stories tells a series of separate stories, Ava’s Manor tells one long one, which suits players who like returning to the same characters.
Two limitations. It is TriPeaks-style play only, so the Klondike and Spider stories you might have enjoyed have no equivalent here. And the story is tied to renovation: you choose furniture and restore rooms to move forward, which is a different hobby from customizing a deck. If decorating is the part you want, our guide to solitaire games with building and decoration compares the games built around it. The free version has ads and in-app purchases, and the current description does not promise offline play.
Solitaire Crime Stories, for a mystery told in chapters
Rainbow Games built this one around a crime serial. You help journalist Lana Whitt and Assistant Sheriff Bill Maite investigate murders and family secrets in Springdale, and your solitaire wins are what move the investigation along: examining scenes, questioning suspects, visiting new locations. A side mode lets you look after Max the kitten between cases. The Google Play listing states plainly that it plays offline, which is a firmer promise than Solitaire Stories makes in its description.
The limitations are scope and clarity. The listing promises "hundreds of levels", a shorter run than the bigger level games here, and it never names which solitaire variant you play; the browser versions on game portals present it as TriPeaks. Boosters, ads and in-app purchases are part of the free version. The iOS version is a separate listing that had not been updated since October 2024 when we checked, so this is mainly an Android pick.
Solitaire Story by LinkDesks, for Klondike with a story
Most story solitaire games use TriPeaks. This one uses classic Klondike, with 1-card or 3-card draw, unlimited undo and custom card themes and backgrounds. Winning deals unlocks short story episodes in which you help characters out of trouble, from a struggling family to a thirsty fish. If the Klondike side of Solitaire Stories is what you played most, this is the nearest Android match, and the listing says it works online and offline.
The limitation is depth. The stories are short rescue vignettes rather than campaigns with their own art and music, and the listing names no Spider, TriPeaks or multiplayer. It is ad-supported with in-app purchases. Look for "Solitaire Card Games Classic" as the developer on Google Play, since the name is shared with other apps.
If the mix of solitaire modes is what you would miss
Microsoft Solitaire Collection, every classic mode on every platform
Microsoft’s app beats Solitaire Stories on reach. It runs on iOS, Android and Windows, and a Microsoft or Xbox account carries progress between them. You get Klondike, Spider and TriPeaks as in Solitaire Stories, plus FreeCell and Pyramid, with five new daily challenges a day, a difficulty setting, weekly rewards and events with leaderboards. For a household where one person plays on an iPhone and another on an Android tablet, it is the one game everybody can install.
Three limitations. There are no stories at all, so the reason Solitaire Stories has its name is missing. The Google Play listing says a persistent internet connection is required. And the free version shows ads, which are removed by a Premium subscription, so you trade one subscription for another if ads bother you.
If you only want the card games, with no app or account, we have free browser versions of Klondike, Spider and TriPeaks that run on any device, Android and Chromebook included.
If you are keeping Apple Arcade
Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On!, solitaire with a racing career
Game Freak’s Arcade game is the most unusual pick here and the one with the most character. You clear cards in number sequence as quickly as you can, and how well you play sets your horse’s mood and energy for the race that follows. Your position on the track changes how hard the next solitaire round is, and horses you raise can be bred so their foals inherit their abilities. A "Perfect Challenge" mode lets you practice the solitaire on its own. It has the same Arcade terms as Solitaire Stories: no ads and no in-app purchases.
The limitations are format and freshness. There is one solitaire variant, played fast, with nothing like Klondike or Spider, and the "story" is your racing career rather than a written narrative. Its most recent App Store update is dated November 2023, so treat it as a finished game, not one that adds content every month the way Solitaire Stories does.
Solitaire Castle Royal, ours, free with a castle to restore
This one is ours, so weigh what follows accordingly. Castle Royal is TriPeaks on a level map with a story layer: you restore King Archibald’s castle room by room alongside a small cast you can meet before you download, and fill out themed stamp collections as you play. There are 14,000+ levels with new ones added every month, and players who finish them move into Kings League. Coins are never needed to start a level, every level is winnable without power-ups, and standard levels are untimed. Levels play offline, and it runs on iOS, Android, Chromebook and PC, which covers the players Solitaire Stories leaves out.
It is free on the App Store and Google Play. The free version shows ads, and removing them is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. The mobile game page answers the usual questions about levels, ads and offline play.
Now the gaps, and Solitaire Stories wins several of them. It has Klondike and Spider; we have only TriPeaks. It has online multiplayer; we do not. On Apple Arcade it has no ads at all, while our free version does. Its stories each come with their own deck, table and soundtrack, and we have one castle and one cast. Our rotating events (Wild Rush, Grand Ball, Skydash and World Tour Puzzles) run for limited windows and need a connection.
Picking one
- Want one long story on Android or iOS? Ava’s Manor, if you are happy to renovate a manor along the way.
- Want a mystery you can play offline? Solitaire Crime Stories, on Android.
- Want Klondike with a bit of story? Solitaire Story by LinkDesks.
- Want Klondike, Spider and TriPeaks on any device, with no story? Microsoft Solitaire Collection, if you always have a connection.
- Keeping Apple Arcade and want something different? Pocket Card Jockey: Ride On!
- Want a free TriPeaks map with no coin cost to start a level, on Android, Chromebook or PC? Solitaire Castle Royal, which is ours, accepting that it is TriPeaks only.
If you still have Apple Arcade and an Apple device, Solitaire Stories itself is hard to replace, because none of the games we looked at puts three classic modes, multiplayer and story campaigns in one app without ads. The alternatives make sense when the device or the subscription is the problem. Decide which half you would keep, the stories or the modes, and pick from that section.
